I am not making it up. That’s how it is advertised. The 8th wonder of the world, the Ifugao rice terraces. I am off on a short holiday to see if this claim can be justified!
Banaue

After we wake up in Angeles we went looking for a bus that will take us away, going north. We spend one more night somewhere in the way (sorry, don't remember the name) and then end up in Banaue. Just small thing - the way is beautiful! and every vilage you enter, the bus slow down, someone jump in…

Carved out of a mountain by the region's tribal people's ancestors, using just their bare hands and simple tools more than 2, 000 years ago, they encompass an area of more tha…

For breakfast we ate at the Stairway Lodge's restaurant. They had quite a good selection in their menu. On the way to Hiwang village, we dropped by the Florida bus station to buy our bus tickets. We had to buy our tickets early because there was no way we could miss…

The north of Luzon is with it's mountains a magical place. The busride from Manila to Banaue was beautiful, the busride between Banaue and Sagada amazing. To summarize this beautiful piece of Earth: rice terraces (UNESCO worldheritage)! With some of them dating back more then a two thousand years, …

6:00 p.m. Instead of setting out, Peds got me to agree to a trip to Tapia Waterfalls. We had to get a guide, Mang Bino, and he led us through the rice terraces which gave us a 180 degree view of the area, then down a cleft in the mountain to the falls, which was very beautiful. We had t…

Asia is my favourite region to travel. Why...? Because of my roots, the people, the culture, the delicious food and in most of the Asian countries everything is so cheap. So, Philippines was also one of the destinations. I took domestic flights to Cebu, Bohol, Boracay and Palawan. I made a cruise from Puerto Princessa to Coron. In Boracay I passed for my Padi Open Water Dive license in just 1,5 day...:) Be my guest and take a peek of the pics...
