Banana Azul

I still dream of going back here, and plan to do so soon! Colin and Roberto are the best hosts anyone could ever hope for. Augustin will make every travel spot your next favorite tour, and Franklin will keep your glasses filled with a smile. Don't go any where else if you can make it to Banana Azul!

Banana Azul has a few different types of rooms available. Trust me that the Garden Suite is higher than highly recommended. The 3 room suite contains a bedroom with satelite tv, a bathroom with shower, and a garden area with a tile tub, sitting area, chairs, and wonderful sunlight. If it wasn't for the fact that Banana Azul is on a black sand beach I would've stayed in the garden suite most of my trip! Don't forget to check out BA's list of incredible trips/attractions that they can line up for you (my favorite was being blessed by a Shaman!).

This place is new and amazing value for the money -- a beautiful beachfront property on a quiet stretch of beach 15 minutes or so walking (or 5 minutes biking) from town. The hotel itself is beautiful, all polished local hardwoods and great big private decks to relax on and there are lots of unique touches -- cool furniture, a built in fish pond in the lobby, etc. The staff is great too as is breakfast.
