Middle Quarters, Jamaica
Bamboo Avenue Middle Quarters Reviews
Impressive to watch May 02, 2011
Jamaica has its fair share of fantastic thing that an earthling like haven’t seen before and one of them is the Bamboo Avenue. The Bamboo Avenue is a 4km long stretch between Middle Quarters and Lacovia, which is shaded by dense 100 year old stands of Bambusa Vulgaris which is the largest Bamboo specie in Jamaica.
I was totally taken by the beauty of these humongous bamboos. To me this is one of the most photogenic roads in Jamaica with the magnificent Bamboo. I was just sad that the traffic was so heavy here and that there were few places to park; but I guess that is why it also is so spectacular. Almost the only thing you see is the bamboo standing next to the road and it was truly something else.
It had until recently been even more impressive but the hurricane Gilbert decided to wander over this avenue and did quite large damages in some parts of the stretch. Evil tongues say that the Bamboo Avenue is fading out due to official neglect which also can be true.
