Studied abroad in Bamako, Mali studying art and anthropology. I learned bogolan, or mudcloth painting. Lived with a group of students, then a family for the majority of the time. Mostly stayed in Bamako, with a weekend trip to Siby and a two-week trip visiting Segou, Djenne, Mopti, Dogon country, Sikasso and a few others.
