Baltschug Kempinski Hotel Moscow Travel Reviews

Jul 26, 2006

A five star hotel at a great location, if you get the corner room with view both north and west, then it would be even better (we did not!). From the west side of the hotel windows we could still see the colorful St Basil's cathedral and the walls of the Kremlin, with the domes of the churches in the cathedral square behind the walls, and the big golden domes of Cathedral of Christ the Savior. A short walk across the bridge and you are are Red Square. None of the metro stations are super close, but more like 10-15 minutes walk away.

The hotel is one of the most expensive in Moscow, partly due to its location and partly due to its amentities, foods and service.

The rooms we got were comfortable, not very large but we did not feel cramped. It was well appointed with flat LCD TV screen and a small table with 2 chairs, in additioin to the desk and chair.

The restaurant in the hotel served breakfast with many different freshly squeezed juice, many different breads, cold meats, cheeses, in addition to hot dishes you can order.

Hotel rooms have wi-fi internet access for 10 units (euros) per hour or 25 units per day. At the business center it's more expensive, but if you just want to check your email real quick, sometimes they don't bother to ask your room number, and you don't have to pay.

I would certainly stay at this hotel again if I can afford it!

rushnrockt says: This is one hotel where you will want to stay when somebody other than you is paying! The rates during the weekend are bearably (~$300) but shoot up to ~$700 a night during weekdays and that's for regular room only. You are not paying for nothing, however. The place is clean. The rooms are large,...
