I only stayed at the Balmoral one night so was not able to make use of all its facilities. The gym and spa looked really nice and I did not eat at any of there restuarants.

The cost is so high, so I would say stay here only if you are looking to endulge. The room was nice, bed was only a double so a bit small for two people and we had asked for a twin room.

The bathroom was amazing! Huge bath tub, nice bath products and just really nice room all together, I could have spent a lot of time in that room alone ;-).

The hotel has valet parking at a high cost (£30) and they park the cars far away so need to give them at least 30 minute notice to fetch your car when you need it.

Location is great for both new and old town, comfortable walking distance from both.

The conceirege was very helpful in booking us for dinner and sites.

Then we head back to our hotels to get ready for afternoon tea at Balmoral Hotel. This is an amazing hotel on Prince's St. This is also the location where J. K. Rowling finished the final Harry Potter Novel. The tea was amazing. It was interesting to set down and participate… free day in edinburgh

Plan was to stay at the Balmoral hotel the first night and then drive to The Boarders to see "family" land of our ancestors. Well, just want to put some comments down, the trip was not as expected for several reasons. But The Balmoral was listed in the 1000 Places to See Before… Edinburgh and The Boarders

The tour lets you see the ancient Kingdom of Fife (from across the water), the Balmoral Hotel, St. Stephans clock tower, the school were Chariots of Fire was filmed, and a whole lot more. It was worth it's money because it also doubled up as our bus to get around town. Who goes to Edinburgh without seeing the Castle… 08/22 - 08/25

We took hundreds of pictures of Scott's Monument and the Balmoral Hotel. We took pictures with the street busker wearing a kilt and playing the bagpipe. I never found out the answer to the question "what's under the kilt?" because I did not want to harass the old man. :) As we walked… The Long Long Journey to the Castle
