Balmers Herberge

This hostel was a lot of fun. You can easily reach the hostel by walking from the train station. Also you can book a lot of the local activities at the front desk and all others they can tell you about which was nice. DO NOT PAY FOR THE INTERNET AT THE HOSTEL!!!They give you tokens worth some free time but everything after that is expensive! There is an internet cafe literally next door where you pay a fraction of a percent of what you pay at the hostel. The only other issue I had was bed arrangement in my first room. The bunk beds were pressed together with no barrier basically creating one large bed for you and some stranger. I'm not the type to complain about things like this but the drunken traveler next to me decided that the whole area was his and continually rolled on top of me. I changed rooms and luckily there was a different set-up so there is a chance you won't have your girlfriend sharing a bed with some drunk Belgian.

Great for a 1 - 3 day stopover to explore interlaken. Relatively cheap prices and they provide breakfast everday. No problems with safety although there's a bar down the stairs and you might get people coming back to your bunk feeling tipsy or drunk.

The people and staff you'll meet there are very interesting and friendly. Take some time to explore the lodge itself, it in itself is an attraction :)
