Ballintra is a small village in County Donegal in the north west of Ireland. It was a market town in years gone by, but today exists as a small village. The village contain Catholic, Methodist and Church of Ireland churches, a local garda (police) station, 2 pubs and 2 shops as well as many other small business's.
The village lies in what are called drumlins, small rolling whale shaped hills that were formed in the ice age. These hills make Ballintra some unique gentle hillwalking opportunities. Nearby to Ballintra is Rossnowlagh beach which is a long flat sandy beach. The beach is packed with families, teenagers and kids during the summer as well as the the sports enthusiasts. Rossnowlagh is facing the full force of the atlantic ocean and can whip up some great winds for surfing, sailing, kite surfing and boogie boarding as well as being a beautiful place to jetski, or boat around the bay.

Dublin, Ireland -› Trim, Ireland -› ...
I got to sleep in until 9am today, it was glorious. We had originally planned to take the ferry back across to the mainland and do some sightseeing but then we decided to just do the sight seeing on Arranmore. Sligo, Ireland -› Drumcliff, Ireland -› ...
A friend of my dad's took us up for a flight in his Cessna plane, from Sligo airport around the coast of Sligo, Leitrim (small enough as the coast is) and then around our home village and town. Enjoy the photos of Ireland's beautiful western coastline
