Ballinrobe golf course is an impressive inland course designed by well-known course designer Eddie Hackett and laid out to championship standard. Set in the grounds of Cloonacastle Estate which dates back to 1238 it offers a challenge to any golfer with its elaborate fairways and man made lakes.

For fans of horse racing, the Ballinrobe race course is located on the N84 Galway/Castlebar road and has 8 meetings throughout the year

Ballinrobe is also hopme to the South Mayo Family Research Centre. If you are looking for your roots in the area it's a good place ot start. The centre is situated on the main street.
