Bali Indonesia meeting some friendly sisters who had a store at Dynesty Hotel getting invited back to there home her husband was an architect & there home was in the process of being built It had three bedrooms lounge it would take up to five years to complete ie have a roof erected thus at the moment having no roof floor coverings~
yet still felt very homely had beautiful carved doors The kitchen was to be a shared one a huge natural concrete floor very bland basic & lots of rugged pots pans hanging neatly around the walls. A shared kitchen with his parents who also had a house on the same land The kitchen was free standing and the size of a lounge room quite a contrast to the ladys brother who on another block of land with several homes he lived with his wife in a room smaller than the average lounge room i didnt go inside yet his wife came out & sat on the concrete & started her weaving she sits there 12 hrs 24/7 The clothing she makes is fabulous the Loom consists of a large piece of flat wood & her cotton silk she threads into a medium oval shaped threader size of a tennis ball and manually passes the thread up & under from left to right across the board changing her colour cotton frequently And putting in a 2inch by 2ft wooden pole at the top of the board pulling it down the wooden board to tighten each & every strand of cotton silk as soon as its threaded Somehow she manages to produce the finest prettiest pieces of Balinese cloth with a consistant beautiful pattern ie maybe a butterfly flowers No patterns to create this i had to wonder how she does it i mean up & over 1 blue 2 pink 3 yellow 5 white 6 green 3 orange how does she do this It takes 24 hours to three days to produce a large bath towel size of cloth depending on how much detail is involved amazing Has to be seen this lady sits on the concrete & weaves all day with the wooden board approx 3ft by 2ft laying across her lap. All for the wage of $2.00 per day if that!! |

The bath room is as big as our lounge back home, the bath itself is probably as big as our bath room. The villas has also got two 42ïnch LCD TV's, one in the lounge and one in the bedroom! We've also got our own private gardens, with gazebo and our own plunge… And now relax…… ( 25th – 31st August) |

The one and only thing I hate about traveling is going home. I hate to go home, but I have to! Every journey has an end, however if it would be endless, it wouldn't be so much worth it. So... I can't wait for another trip, more and more.. See you around. :)… a memorable week! |

We then headed back home which took a couple of hours through many rice fields where you could see lots of people working in the intense heat. That night we went to a jazz bar and had some food and listened to some good music.
