Baldwin Hotel San Francisco Reviews
Very well located hotel in San Francisco Apr 29, 2008
Overall a very good hotel to spend some time in San Francisco. It is just three blocks from Market Street and one to China town. It is not a very well equiped hotel, but it does the job. There is no free Internet but you have a Wifi Hot Spot service run by thekiosk.net.
I came for a convention in Moscone Center, and it is just 10 minutes away. Everything is quite clean and the guys at reception are very friendly. It is run buy a Chinese family. It is just accomodation, I don“t even think they serve breakfast. I booked and paid the hotel through Expedia, so I am not sure how much it was a night. I had to stay one more night and I paid 109$ for a single room. |

Nice Hotel in an excellent location Sep 24, 2007
Got an good price on the hotelclub website for 4 nights. Emailed the hotel to confirm my booking and ask about earlier check-in, they replied saying they would try but that I could leave the luggage behind the reception desk if it wasn't available.
Arrived at 11am, easy check-in and room was available. The hotel lobby was nice and the reception staff very friendly. Theres an internet pc (chargeable), sightseeing leaflets, settees, drink and snack machine as well as a coffee machine (there's none in the room). The room was nicely laid out, large and clean. Nice size wardrobe (walk in), ensuite, desk, tv (usual channels) and very comfy queen size bed. The hotel is in an excellent location, right by Chinatown and two blocks from Union Square where you can catch the cable car to Fishermans Wharf. One complaint I did have was that there were hairs (head hair !) on my bath towels so I asked the reception desk to get them replaced which they did that afternoon. Another complaint (which definitely wasn't the Baldwins fault) was that they were re-tarmacing the road outside ! 2nd night they were digging it all up, but luckily stopped about 11:30 and the 3rd night they were tarmacing. I was so tired from the 16 mile bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge to Tiburon that I fell straight asleep so that didn't bother me. If you're booking in the next couple of years you won't need to worry about the road being dug up ! You can book a shuttle to the airport at the hotel. I was told to be back 10 minutes before the allocated pickup time but they arrived 20minutes before, luckily I went back to the hotel 25minutes before to sort my things out. This cost just $15 and the driver drops you off at the correct terminal. Part of the Trek America - Western Wonder - September, 2007 travel blog |

Monday 24th - moved to my new hotel (Baldwin Hotel ) for the next 4 nights. Had a quick walk round Union Square (only two blocks from hotel) and then met up with Lizzie, Lucie, Mel, Jodie and Mark. Went in the big Levi store and then… San Francisco - Days 8 - 13 |
