Baldaquin Hotel Paris Reviews

This is a centrally-located hotel, in the 17ème arrondissement. There are lots of friendly Sri Lankan staff working there, and everyone made us feel very welcome and helpful with any questions that we had about the hotel, where to go, how to get there and the types of tickets to get. Free information was readily given out.

There was a television in the room, so in the quiet moments when we were recovering from the mamoth sight-seeing journeys, it was good to have so background noise, even if we didn't understand the vast majority of what was going on.

The beds were soft and comfortable and afforded a good night's sleep. The en-suite bathroom was clean and had alovely hot shower. It was just a shame the door to our bathroomdidn't close properly or have a lock on it. Good thing that Mum and I get on well and have an understanding about these things!

Due to its position and easy access to public transport (there are bus stops on the main road, and 2 metro stops within a couple of minutes' walk) getting around the city from here was simple.

The price of the hotel was included in the travel package that we booked on-line, but it is possible to book separately.

Baldaquin Hotel Overview

Ideally located in the Batignolles disctrict in the heart of Paris, the charming Le Baldaquin Excelsior hotel is close to the famous department stores as well as Montmartre and the Champs Elysees. St Lazare train station is around a 15-minute walk away and nearby airports include Orly (approximately 25 km away), Charles De Gaulle (30 km away) and Beauvais-Tille (roughly 80 km away).

Built in 1890, this privately owned independent boutique hotel offers 22 en suite bedrooms with marble chimneys and elegant mirrors. Decorated in a rather rustic style, the hotel warmly welcomes guests into an atmosphere they can consider their second home. This nice and quiet hotel is ideal for business and leisure and offers guests use of a 24-hour reception, currency exchange facilities, lift access and a breakfast room.

Each room features an en suite bathroom, hairdryer, direct dial telephone and a TV. Some of the rooms are especially quiet with views to the interior garden of the hotel.

A continental breakfast is served daily in a vaulted room with large old style chairs, typical of Paris.

By car: on the ring road, take the exit for Porte de Clichy. Continue towards Clichy Square. By metro: take line 2 to the Rome station (2 minutes' walk from the hotel). By bus: take line 66 to the Boulevard des Batignolles station (1-minute walk).
