Balalaika Restaurant Reviews
Russian food, vodka, music in China - great Jan 26, 2004
Why not? They have Chinese restaurants in Russia. We were there on a quiet night during the Chinese New Year holidays. We went over from central on the Star Ferry and on the way up to Knutsford Terrace we passed a group doing a dragon dance to give good fortune to a business just opening up.
The food at Balalaika was excellent the entertainment was fun Russian singing, instrumentals and dance (with audience participation encouraged) We topped off the evening by dressing up in fur coats, hats and gloves and going into the ice room next to the bar to select a vodka from about 100 different varieties (or 50 who was counting?) I selected Stolychnaya, my wife a vodka/ strawberry mix. If was a good cap for a fun night. We went back to North Point on the Metro. Recommended Part of the South-east Asia 2004 travel blog |
