Bakur Bar Uig Reviews
Bar At The Pier Jul 26, 2012
Nice friendly bar at the end of the pier, that does nice meals at reasonable prices.
Often pop in here on the way to Harris, as I rarely take the car over, and can enjoy a beer after driving. In the past also have got the bus (915 from Glasgow) up and because of connection times or ferry delays have spent a good few hours in it.
Gives a good view to the end of the pier, so you know when you have to leg it along the pier to make the boat.
Nice and bright inside, and has a large restaurant section built out towards the shore. For a nice day it also has wooden tables with benches outside.
Popular with locals and tourists alike, and if staying in Uig it does some live music nights.Has a range of draught beers, and for lager it was a choice of Carling or Grolsch, and I went for the latter. Did notice a wide range of whiskies on the gantry.
While I was in there was nobody in the restaurant, it was still a bit early at around 6pm, but there were four staff waiting to take care of any customers.
Girl behind the bar was bright and cheerful, and while not serving was helping a group of tourists with their map and plans for the following day.
I sat and enjoyed my beer and watched sport on TV. There is also a pool table in the bar, which while stuck here for a bit I have used :D.
Waited until I thought it time to board, and should allow at least 15 minutes to get along the pier and onboard the ferry.
Has a good reputation, from all the folk I know who travel through here, and probably the place to head if staying in the area.
