The drive went smoothly except for the times I shouted profanities at the big trucks swerving too close for comfort or at other cars riding my ass cuz the Tacoma was only a 4-banger.  I hope my potty-mouth doesn't tarnish my girl scout image...hahaha!  Conversing with Jenn was awesome...we talked about everything from science to travel and music to our personal lives.  She even educated me on microfinance...interesting stuff...Jenn is super smart!I told Jenn that we HAD to stop...

So we left Vegas this morning.  It was a fun day yesterday, but Vegas is definitely no place I'd want to live.Baker is not our destination for the day, but I add it because of some funny stuff that occurred on the drive from Vegas to pass through Baker on the way to Anaheim.  The first event was: the van died again.  We found ourselves in the middle of the Mojave Desert in stop and go traffic... more on that later.  In stop and go traffic, we came to one of many stops, and...

Martina and I kidknapped Irmgart's garden gnome, Karl, and road-tripped from Portland to Sky City, New Mexico. Started out on I-84 toward Idaho. Camped in Burley - Paul (sounds like a bad dragqueen name). Drove through Utah to camp in Moab. Visited Arches National Park, and Mesa Verde before pulling in to Sky City Casino Hotel. Visited the Pueblos, Sandia Peak, Santa Fe via the Turqouise Trail. Then back toward home via Flagstaff, Las Vegas, Death Valley, the San Joaquin, & the Siskiyous.
