Baiona Vacation Guide
Baiona is a paradisiac and quite small beach area not too far away from Pontevedra city (Galicia).
It was founded by Romans more than 2,000 years ago and you can still see the fortification ruins surrounding the town. The current name was given by Alfonso IX in the 13th century, when Baiona was a key piece of the maritime commerce between Spain and the rest of the countries.
In these earth, there are two official languages: Spanish and Galego. When visiting these beautiful beaches, do not forget to taste the typical gaelician food, such as the 'Pulpo a la Gallega' and the 'Empanada Gallega'. The best company for those two plats? An 'AlbariƱo' wine!
