Bailey Balloons Hot Air Balloon Rides Reviews

Jun 05, 2006
Bailey Balloons offers hot air balloon rides all over southwest England. I took a flight from their Thornbury launch site, and the flight took us over the Cheddar Gorge and a lot of other amazingly beautiful countryside scenery. While it's a bit expensive for a few hours' entertainment, I think it was more than worth it. But if you decide to take a hot air balloon ride, don't be like me and forget your camera!

The pilot was friendly and happy to explain what he was doing whenever someone had questions. The actual hot air balloon ride took about an hour, but the whole trip took about 5 hours, including time getting ready at the launch site, and the drive back from the landing site.

If you've never been on a hot air balloon ride before, the lovely people at Bailey Balloons will make you feel perfectly comfortable! They're happy to point out landmarks and interesting bits of the scenery as you're flying over. I've taken other balloon flights from other operators in the Balloons Over Britain network, and they've all been wonderful. I'm hoping to take Bailey's flight over the Wye Valley this Fall, but I'd recommend the Cheddar Gorge flight to everyone. It was just breathtaking, and after the flight they even did a champagne toast when we landed!
