Bahja de Mogador

This hotel is on a main road, about a 15 minute walk from the medina. It's ok to walk during the day but at night I would take a taxi to the medina. Facing the street from the hotel, in the next block to the left is an internet cafe, card payphones, teleboutique and supermarket. Directly across the street is a sandwich/pizza shop with good food. I got a nice vegetarian panini there one night for dinner.

Hotel rooms are extremely large. I had not 1, but 2 large fluffy bath towels, just heavenly! This is the quietest hotel I stayed in while in Morocco. Not the most convenient location in Essaouira, but I got the best night's sleep of the entire trip here. My room faced the side street, not the main street out front.

I stayed only 1 night in this hotel. First impression was a really kind staff thank you for them! As Essaouira is really small from the hotel you can reach everything by taxi for around 5-10DHM. CTM bus is really close. Medina is around 5 minutes with taxi or 20 minutes walk. Bed is comfortable. The only bad experience was with the hot water as I didn't get any. They called the room straight after I tried to get some hot water (so they knew it was a problem) and told me to wait 10 minutes.

I'd recommend anyway this hotel for backpackers and those who are on short visit in Essaouira.
