Bahia De Oro - Restaurante Xines Reviews

I love oriental food, and thus I love Chinese restaurants! Bahia De Oro is a family run Chinese restaurant located just across from the beach in Empuriabrava. It is right next door to the popular Orange Kiwi bar. The staff are about as friendly as you'll find anywhere, and always greet with huge smiles! Most of them have good English, and enjoy helping to correct your Spanish/Catalan if you give it a try!
Probably the best thing about Bahia De Oro is the cost.... it is very cheap! The following meal costs roughly 38 euro including 7% IVA (VAT/Sales Tax): - Prawn crackers (complimentary) - Vietnamese Spring Rolls (3) - Large Spring Roll - Hot & Sour Soup - Sizzling Beef - Chicken in black bean sauce - Fried rice - French fries - Half bottle of Vina Sol white wine - 2 large beers - 1 bottle of still water - Orange Sorbet - Espresso And the portions are on par with typical Chinese restaurant portions - they're large enough to feed a small army! I have eaten in better Chinese restaurants, but the food is very good, and can't be beaten at this price! When you finish your meal you will be brought some shot-type drinks with your bill and you will be offered sweet or dry. Sweet is easier to drink! Just to add to their generosity, they often give gifts to female diners. Jill, my girlfriend has to date received some weird small elephant decoration and a beautiful Chinese calendar. Don't expect to get these, they don't give them all year round, and there's a possibility we were given them because we dined in there so much! :) If you like Chinese food, are on a budget or want a good feed, I highly recommend paying Bahia De Oro a visit!
