Badlands National Park Vacation Guide

Badlands National Park in South Dakota has over 200,000 acres of eroded pinnacles and spires, surrounded by prarie grassland. Named "Bad Lands" by the eary settlers and Native Americans, who had trouble crossing the rough terrain after the relatively flat prairie. Bad for farming, difficult to cross, and easy to get lost, these were "Bad" lands indeed! Now, you can take driving, walking or hiking tours throughout the park. Bring lots of water, it can get very hot here! Drive "The Loop" to see lots of animals and scenery, and walk the "fossil trail". The hard clay sediments that formed the Badlands are an excellent source of fossils for paleontologists.

We entered into Badlands National Park, and purchased a National Parks Pass card for $50.  This would give us entrance into any National Park for the next year.  Since we planned to visit over 20 of them in the next month, this was indeed a bargain! We would have spent hundreds of dollars…

We went to Lead to see the Presidents Par…

My best friend and I just recently got back from a 3 1/2 week roadtrip across the U.S. It was definitely the most amazing trip I've ever taken in my life. We took the northern route all the way out to the Pacific coast, went down the coast, then came back the southern route. For anybody who hasn't taken a lengthy roadtrip in their life, I highly suggest you do so while you are still young and single...it's a once in a lifetime experience that you will never forget.
