Turned west in Bad Ischl on Highway 158 toward the towns of Strobl, Sankt Wolfgang im Salzkammergut, Sankt Gilgen, Fuschl am See, Hof bei Salzburg, and Koppl on our way back toward Salzburg. All these towns cling the shoreline of the Wolfgangsee, a beautiful lake set in a high Alpine valley east of Salzburg.

Since I planned most of the trip, I asked Michele to plan the Austria portion - including Vienna and anything else she would like to see on our way back to Munich.  She asked around and heard that the Lakes District was a really pretty area so she looked into that.  Unfortunately, it wasn't easy to get there.  After getting our luggage out from the lockers in Melk, we got on one train and backtracked a little before transfering to another train.  And then another and anoth...

Austria is the western neigbour of my homeland Slovakia, a small German speaking country with very specific dialects which complains a lot of being confused with Australia. A country that has lots to offer for travellers.
