Bad Aibling Vacation Guide

Bad Aibling is a city in Bavaria (Germany) on the rivers Mangfall and Glonn, located ca. 50km southeast of Munich and 40km north of Kufstein, Austria. It is located in the district of Rosenheim. It is a health resort (mud bath).
Bad Aibling was first mentioned in 804 as "Epininga".
In 1845 the first treatments with the mud taken from a nearby swamp were offered by the physician Desiderius Beck and were helping people with back and joint problems. Bad Aibling received the title "Bad" (spa or springs) in 1895. In the year 1933 Bad Aibling became a city. After World War II Bad Aibling evolved into a major center for intelligence organizations and secret services due to the presents of the Army base Bad Aibling Station located in the suburb Mietraching. Other suburbs are Harthausen, Willing, Berbling, Ellmosen, etc.
The city has a beautiful park and two indoor swimming pools with sauna and tanning beds. There are also a few old churches with a lot of history behind them. One of them is the Sebastiani church which was built during the time of the plague. It is located at the Marienplatz which is the center of the city!
