Backpacking Europe Reviews

For traveling Europe, you need to start by buying a guide book. I recommend Lonely Planet or Let's Go for backpackers. The other books are for high end travel. With guide book in hand, you can start your dive into Europe and figure out where you want to go. Then, take a look at your budget and see how much you have to spend. Plan to spend $60 a day if backpacking. This does not include transportation or airfare. With this information, you can figure out how long you can (or want to) spend in Europe. It's a good idea to spend at least 3 days in major cities, and 1-2 days in smaller ones. Work out a rough itinerary and find a Eurail pass that will serve you best. Book your plane tickets (Dublin, London, and Paris are cheap to fly into) and if you want to, you can start to book accomodation. Depending on the time of year you go, you may want to book ahead. Find a backpack and bring enough clothes for 5 days of travel. There are good packing lists out there for you to use.
