Backpackers In Paradise Surfers Paradise Reviews
dirty in the city Jan 19, 2010
Backpackers in paradise looks great from the outside, but when I stepped inside my room, I was met with old dirty linens on the floor, no garbage can, and mildew in the shower.
Each room had its own bathroom and cupboards. Most of the cupboards however were broken or missing doors so you weren't able to lock your things up.
Although reception was closed at night, there was a security staff member at the door to check to see if you were actually staying there, and let people check in/out. This person also enforced the 'quiet time' rule to allow for quality sleeps!
The kitchen was often low on supplies, dirty and full of cockroaches.
They hoever, did win points with cheap internet, pool tables, an affordable bar and nightly movies. There is also an onsite shop and pool.
They also were included with several other hostels in organized pub crawls for decent prices. They included free cover, free drinks and group pictures.
The location was excellent, but with another hostel just a few doors down, its not worth it.
