Backhome Backpackers Kuala Lumpur Reviews
Jun 09, 2010
Backhome Backpackers is in a good location situated a 2 minute walk from the Masjid Jamek Rapid KL train station,5 minutes from China Town and about a 20 minute walk from The Petronas Twin Towers.
It has very good security, with a solid glass door facing the reception desk, which on pressing the buzzer the lady behind the desk will wave and pop it open, helping to keep out any unwanted visitors.
The interior though is very smart throughout, the poshest, backpackers ive ever been to by far.It has a nice lounge area, with tv loads of dvds to play, a large selection of travel books to browse through, a large outside patio with tables and chairs which most evenings fellow backpackers would gather to have a few drinks before heading for a night out into KL.It has loads of showers and toilets on the ground and first floor so in the 5 days i stayed there i never had to wait to use these.
The beds in the rooms are not your usual rickety bunk beds, these are solid wooden and built into the wall so no movement from the guy above or below makes your bed rock about like in many backpackers.Small lockers built into each bed for your passports and other smaller items and large lockers in each room for the big bags etc...

This hostel was absolutely amazing. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and comfortable. Everyone working there was so nice and so helpful.
The rooms were great, the beds were huge and comfortable- with proper mattresses! The beds also had little cubbies that locked with a light & an outlet. There were lockers in the room that you can have three shelves and a cubbie to put your back pack in.
The bathrooms were sort of open air with rainfall shower heads. In the bathroom they had a box of left over toiletries from past guests.
There was also an open air seating area and a nice air conditioned area with tea & coffee available, as well as a great selection of DVDs to watch. There were computers for use and free wi-fi. I can't say enough good about this place, it was perfect after a 12 hour flight!
