My sisters and I brought our mother to Bacchus for High Tea over Mothers Day in 2014. We booked with Bacchus because we found it to be the best value of the top end establishments in Brisbane.

Bacchus is located on the pool level of the Rydges Hotel in South Bank, Brisbane. Whilst we went for High Tea, Bacchus also does breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a casual but cool bar area surrounding the pool.

The service upon arrival was impeccable. We had a very funny French waiter whom had a very strong accent we could hardly understand. All the waiters and waitresses were polite and courteous but not stiff or pretentious like you can some times get in establishments like this.

We had the Quintessential High Tea with Moet for $55 each. This included an assortment of cakes, sandwiches and a selection of tea or coffee. All the food was very fresh, light and so delicious. I had the 'Paris' tea which was served black and had a hint of strawberries and cream.

The furnishings of the restaurant was also fit for a Queen. Around a round table we had three regular chairs and then there was a larger chair, much like a throne which we sat our Mother in. Every detail down to the china and the cutlery was very high end.

The icing on the top of an amazing high tea was the Moet. The temperature was perfect chilled, it was out of this world, just amazing, the best champagne i've ever had.

Brilliant.
