Great Food…Good Friends…Bon Appétit at Babbos!!! Jun 13, 2008
The outstanding factor about Babbos is the food!!!! ***stuffing food into my mouth as quick as I can grab it*** Oh, that heavenly food! Whether you order the pasta--with lobster in gamberi sauce or the steak, or the rucola with salmon {which is positively DIVINE!!!!!}...your taste buds will stand up and dance around your mouth!!! We tried all sorts of dishes and loved every single one of them! Course, being a big family, you could see forks criss-crossing into each other’s plates and sometimes you’d see a plate swap places too! Lolol

Another thing that makes Babbos stand out among the rest of the many restaurants and cafes is Sabrina! She and her fiancée' (could be her husband by now) own Babbos, as I understood things. She is usually in the thick of business and working as the head hostess/waitress. Your first contact with Babbos generally involves contact with her, and it is that impression that makes a huge difference. She is sharp, genuine and makes all of her clientele feel special and appreciated. She keeps everything running smoothly and efficiently. Sabrina may have blond, curly hair mid-way her back or black braids...it just depends on her mood! Regardless, you'll know her by friendliness! Working along side of her was Besmei… who somewhat resembled Orlando Bloom! Can we say “smile for the camera!”? Olyvia was quite happy to pose! lolol

The place was always packed but you never had to wait overly long to be seated. As it was summertime, we always opted to sit in the sidewalk café area rather than inside the actual building. During our first trip to Rome (summer ’06), we ended up eating there every night for dinner! After the first night or two, Sabrina began to bring us complimentary drinks as a token way of saying 'Thank you' for our patronage to her restaurant. Not to mention, we were sending other people to the restaurant as well!

We went back to Roma in the summer of ’07 and stopped in for dinner at Babbos! Sabrina was there and when she saw us, she recognized us and came straight over and gave us a big Italian welcome! Once all the greetings and laughter had subsided, she asked us if we wanted what we had ordered the first time we came to her restaurant…she remembered and told us what it was!! We were speechless that she could remember what we liked after a year!!!! So, we let her order for us! Talk about service!! :D

I see by their website http://www.babbos.it that they have moved since we were last there so things may look a bit different from our fotos now. If you’re ever in Rome…you have to stop in by Babbos for dinner, but remember that they’re closed on Monday!
