Cora and Justus are a Dutch-German couple that open this nice place as a campground in 1999. Today that still have the secure camping facilities, but they also have 2 air-conditioned ‘Tikits’ (furnished stone huts). I stayed and recommend the one closest to where the chickens and ducks sleep. Don’t worry, they are quiet. So are the tikits and the whole area for that matter.

The facilities are excellent. Let’s get the important information out of the way. All the showers and toilets are in a central block, but each shower and toilet is in an individual and clean locked room. Plenty of hot water. They also have a great place to wash clothes. Drying clothes is easy and there are several covered areas to relax in. There is a dedicated shop across the lane from the entrance and they will even run your purchases over to you.

Meals can be arranged in advance (only) or you can walk into the town. It’s a leisurely 10-15 minute stroll. A guard stays in the middle of the compound at night.

I really enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend it if you can reserve the tikits or if you are camping/overland. They have full garage and repair workshop should you have any problems.
