Baan Khanita, Sathorn - Expensive Thai cuisine but worth the paying Mar 27, 2017
I visited this restaurant on 8th March 2017 for lunch. We were 6 Travbuddies who decided to meet in Bangkok over lunch and as per suggestion of Thananya, a TB from Bangkok, we chose this restaurant. This restaurant has many branches in Bangkok and we met at its Sathorn branch.

When we entered this restaurant it was nearly empty because it was just start of the week and I heard that one may need to make reservations at the weekends since it tends to be too crowded. The restaurant has a great ambience and a Pleasant decor and one can sit relaxed and enjoy food. As per their website the first restaurant in this chain was opened on November 4th 1993 and aimed to serve Thai food in a traditional atmosphere.

They gave us a complimentary appetiser known as Miang Kham in local language. It consisted of some kind of leaves and roasted coconut, chopped onion, peanuts, lime, dried shrimp and chilli served in bowls. There was also a bowl containing some kind of syrup. We were supposed to put those ingredients on top of leaves and after adding syrup, make a wrap and eat. I enjoyed the taste. We ordered the famous Massaman Curry and one more dish with rice. The quality of food was superb. The total cost of lunch was 3000 THB for 6 of us.

Would definitely return to this place if I visit Bangkok again.

Impressive building - average food Dec 15, 2015
The restaurant highly recommend by the guide book for an authentic Thai food with romantic location right at the water in Asiatique.

The building is impressive and beautiful with colonial bamboo style and the view from the restaurant toward the water was amazing. We requested a table on the first floor so we can have a good view toward the water. The staff is not that friendly and quite busy with themselves. There were plenty of staff standing around but not really cater to the guess.

Unfortunately the food was a let-down and it was just an average Thai food with high price tag for the tourist. Avoid if you can as other restaurants in Thailand served better food than this establishment. I think we paid over usd100 for these food.
