Most Memorable Travel Experience

“... In foreign cities
we make better use of our senses, we are bolder
in our intuitions. And after the soup and the warm
tea, going out into the street, we can discover
that we are still alive and that, after all,
we have never known any other condition.
This is the hour that reveals us.
And what we call reality
heads off with us in the same direction.”

Profile
I am from Rio de Janeiro so I’m fearless. I don’t like narrow-minded people. I have a bad memory for names. I love John Coltrane. I am a great cook but I’m lazy. I don’t like ginger. I’ve never had any collection. I’ve broken several bones. I walk really slowly. I love Miles Davis. I buy records for their covers. I make lists. I don’t hold grudges. I judge people by their musical taste. I learned to read when I was four. I don’t care for money. I can’t resist brunette women. I always live close to the sea - emergency exit. I love cinema. I can’t dance. I don’t have nicknames. I love Mondrian. I support Botafogo FR. I can’t play poker. When I was a kid I wanted to be a garbage man. I drink too much coffee. I never know what to do with my hands in the presence of authorities. I love Peter Sellers. I sleep less than I would like to. I sleep a lot. I have no superstition. I love wine. I hate wine connoisseurs. I despise people who take themselves too seriously. I love bohemians. I can’t live without fruits. I envy elephants. I love Augusto de Campos. I love opera. I want to live a simpler life. I cannot imagine my life without music and wine. I love beer. I don’t give money to beggars. I love diving. I love Kubrick. I love Klee. I love Matisse. I sleep on planes. I love Louise Bourgeois. I like orchids. I hate aestheticization of poverty. I love autumn in Rio. One day I shall have a Calder mobile in my living room. I love live concerts. People say I change a lot and I do.

hello Bruno!

Good to meet a native carioca! I am planning my first Rio carnival trip (I've been to Rio before in July of 2009). I would love to make some new friends while I'm there. I'm trying to improve my spanish and maybe even learn some portuguese :)

Gracias,
Roberto
