SUNDAY BRUNCH SPOT Nov 23, 2008
I went here with tracy(tre69), her mom, and my mum before we see WICKED. the prices are in ""
we shared the CRÊPES with nutella and whipped cream with nutella and banana WOW i felt like i was in italy again. i loved it.
tracy ordered the ODE TO BUTTERFIELDS thinly sliced flatiron steak, poached eggs, cabernet sauvignon hollandaise, house made english muffin, choice of potatoes i liked this very much. the steak was tender. the sauce was wonderfully seasoned.
i ordered the BRAISED PORK & POACHED EGGS citrus hollandaise, grilled pain de mie, choice of potatoes i had my sauces on the side. the pork was moist. i like it.
tracy's mum ordered the HOUSE CURED SALMON BENEDICT with wilted baby spinach, english muffin, hollandaise, choice of potatoes i am not a big fan of salmon unless it's with a bagel or from AK.
my mum ordered the PROSCIUTTO DI PARMA WRAPPED ASPARAGUS FRITTATA with gruyere cheese, arugula this was very good. i was impressed with the homemade brioche.
YOUR CHOICE POTATOES
spanish chorizo home fries, olive oil & thyme roasted fingerling potatoes, french fries. we were all agreed the fingerling potatoes was well seasoned and crispy not too soggy.
i would recommend coming here. i first time i heard about this is when doris(martinikitty13) and sybli reviewes about it. i have been wanted to come here. we came here on sunday at 11am. it was not busy yet. they do not accept reservations more than 6 people. you just have to know when is the right time. there is valet. we were lucky finding street parking.

This is a hip, trendy breakfast, lunch, dinner place (get it? "BLD"?) with surprisingly good food. When it first opened, service was a bit choppy at best, but I kept coming back because the food was so yummy - ricotta pancakes (so fluffy and light), fresh blueberry jam (so good that it made me speechless), braised pork (fall off the bone tender). Recently I had the smoked salmon plate - thick slices of smoked salmont with toasted bagel, fresh capers, tomatoes, pickled red onions, cream cheese from cowgirl creamery ... yum! The french press coffee is also consistently good. This is a great place for locals, as well as tourists - especially since there's a lot of fun people watching (everyone looks really good here ... not sure why) and celebrity sightings (last time i sat next to topher grace from the 70s Show). Parking can be a pain - you have to find street or metered parking - be careful to read the signs so you don't get a ticket!
Random note - I loved their salt & pepper shakers so much that my friend went back and bought them for me - BLD actually sells them!
