- Directions: Come off the boat from Thailand, through Immigration and up the road then turn left. The guesthouse is about 20 metres on the left, with a yellow sign. The ATM on the opposite side of the road is not far from it.

Superior backpacker price with quirky old owner Aug 12, 2008
Great place to stay for one or two nights as you pass through into or out of Laos. The main thing was that our wood-decked double room was very clean, we had a fan, decent bathroom (wet room), free soap, hot water, towels, and room to unpack our bags! Cost us 80,000 kip for one night, plus 20,000 deposit for the key. There are cheaper places in town, though.
It's located on the Mekong River, so some rooms have a decent view. The elderly owner speaks good English and French, and is a bit cranky but good fun once you break through to her. Don't be scared of her! Breakfast is not included but you can order some in their restaurant. And, since you're in Laos, you get decent baguettes for breakfast!
