Azurara Palace Lisbon Reviews
Nice if it is the only Portugese palace you'll see Sep 18, 2010
At the edge of the Miradoura das Portas do Sol, a square that has an excellent view of the basilica which is located on a higher hill and the lower based Alfama, the 17th century Azurara Palace is located.
The palace houses the Decorative Arts Museum, and gives a picture of aristocratic life in the 18th and 19th century. The palace and its interior used to be owned by a wealthy banker who donated his estate and collection of furniture, silver, Chinese porcelain and tapestries to the state.
It’s a beautiful palace, but only worth visiting if you’re not going to see any other palaces in Portugal, because then it fades in comparison.
