My travelling throught the Caucasus countries started with a trainjourney from the Netherlands to Brussels. When I arrived in Brussels, it was 01.30am allready and with an airplane leaving for Riga at 09.00am, there was no point for me to search for accomodation in Belgium capital. I have heard such a great deal about Baku both last year and then this year from Azeris in Georgia.They were all extremely proud of their capital. So far the city has lived up to their descriptions in some ways though not in all. They boasted about how modern the city is, which is only partially true. I know many of you have never heard of Azerbaijan, and for that you should be glad. There were some scenes in a James Bond movie filmed in this former Soviet republic and lifelong enemy of Armenia, with a casino and Russian babes draped around rich men in tuxedos--which is utter bullshit--and a scene in an icky-looking caviar processing place, which is a lot more like it, but don't eat the fish eggs till you read more about this place. July 5The exploration of the day was Isti Su. This literally means “Hot Water.” Isti Su is a Soviet Era sanitarium – but really there are a set of hot springs.
