Avoiding pickpockets Travel Reviews

Aug 22, 2007
Everyone goes on about the pickpockets but it should not ruin your holiday. Buy a cross your shoulder bag, "man bag". All the locals have them as they are tricky to steal from. Areas most likely to be stolen from are La Ramblas and the Sagrada Familia as at both places you are distracted and surrounded by lots of people. Beware in these two spots and relax in the rest of Barcelona. If you want to be ultra cautious buy a money belt, if you are a man wear it around your chest making it near impossible to be stolen.
I felt safe in Barcelona in all places except La Rambla and that was probably just me being wary of all the warnings I had before I left. Buy your bag and enjoy.
