Dublin's new national football and rugby stadium Dec 30, 2010
The Aviva stadium is an odd design, something like a bedpan designed to allow light to still get to the surrounding houses. It's the new home of Irish rugby and football (sorry, soccer...) and has a great atmosphere in big match days. They also host a few concerts from seriously big name musicians, though personally I'd suggest that they're a touch overpriced for being part of such a huge crowd. Events like international rugby can cost a fortune but they're very impressive and interesting experiences.

My major fault with the new stadium comes with the wind: I sat at the top in Autumn, and the design of the stadium allows the gusts to whip around the entire place. It's absolutely freezing cold, so bear that in mind when you're dressing to go down there. There's also a few business conferences and stuff like that. I wouldn't really bother if there's not an event on unless you're a serious stadium nerd (in which case you'll probably prefer Croke Park and it's impressive history anyway). Locals still call this place Lansdowne Road (the name of the old stadium it replaced) as well as The Aviva Stadium, so don't get confused to references to both...
