Avila Travel Blogs

Avila is a small town around 2 hrs from Madrid by train. We happened to go there because every other attractions were fully booked since it was Easter. I felt lucky about it. I like Avila a lot, the Wall city as it used to be the city of defense. Avila is cold town but the people are so warm at heart.

This is the story of my attempt to learn Spanish during a 15 week stay in Granada and Salamanca (Spain) during 2008.

For a little more than a week, Hester and I headed to Spain for a short holiday around Easter. Although the weather was not always what we hoped/expected it to be, we still we able to enjoy our short holiday

Trip to Avila with my girlfriend in March 2007

I went to Avila after talking to some of my students about it. It was only a short train ride from Madrid about 1 and a 1/2 hours so it was perfect day trip to take. Arriving at the train station i made a beeline for the old town which is surrounded by very impressive walls with some 88 towers also…

20 days in Spain. I visited about 10 cities..... Valencia, Granada, Malaga, Sevilla, Cordoba, ... upgrade if I´m home O:)
