My sister is visiting from Colorado with her family (husband and 2 young daughters). We grew up here and always went to Avila as children during summer vacation. That was before Unical let the oil seep underground and they had to demolish virutally the whole town. So the town of Avila that you see now is not anywhere close to the Avila that I remember fondly- which is why I hardly ever go here. My beach preference is Morro Bay (whch is only 15 minutes away from me vs. 30 minutes to Avila) but...

Just travelled up the PCH from Morro Bay to San Francisco. Had the best time ever. Also did a 'little' detour to do a spot of Surfing at Pacific Beach San Diego.. just as a treat!
