Avenue Q
Avenue Q Reviews
Feb 22, 2006Avenue Q is a fabulous Broadway Musical that won the 2004 Tony Awards for Best Musical and Best Book. Though there are many puppets featured in this show, it is by no means a childish shows. In fact, it features a lot of touchy subjects such as sexuality, sex, racism, porn, etc. The show is HILARIOUS, as it makes fun of countless things. Below is a brief summary from the official Avenue Q website: AVENUE Q is the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who comes to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. He soon discovers that the only neighborhood in his price range is Avenue Q; still, the neighbors seem nice. There's Brian the out-of-work comedian and his therapist fianceé Christmas Eve; Nicky the good-hearted slacker and his roommate Rod -- a Republican investment banker who seems to have some sort of secret; an Internet addict called Trekkie Monster; and a very cute kindergarten teaching assistant named Kate. And would you believe the building's superintendent is Gary Coleman?!? (Yes, that Gary Coleman.) Together, Princeton and his newfound friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life. PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE Tues, Weds, Thurs @ 8pm, Sun @ 7pm though VERY expensive, as all Broadway shows are, it is worth seeing. You will not regret it! |

After the show, Peter went back to his apartment and we went back to our hotel. Wonderful way to start my trip to New York City :)
