Nice Hotel near everything Jun 09, 2011
Nice hotel, great location near the train station, red light district, etc. Nice to have a key card instead of a big key ring you need to leave at the front desk whenever you need to leave. I liked the location, very close to cafes and coffeeshops, and just a 5-10 minute from the heart of the Red Light District and the train station. Only thing I'll do differently this year is try to find something a little cheaper... but Avenue was very nice and might be perfect for my first night in town. One thing I remember that was a little funny: I could not find an ATM in the area anywhere, so my next trip to the hotel, I stopped by the front desk and asked where I could find one. "Turn left, Dam Square, turn left again." or something like that was the terse reply. I didn't really know where Dam Square was at that point, so I started to ask for clarification. "Turn left, Dam Square, turn left again." she said again. Okay... I found it easily enough, I guess she was tired of explaining things that shouldn't have needed explaining! ;-)

A satisfactory hotel at the city center Mar 13, 2011
I have chosen to stay in Avenue Hotel during my Amsterdam holiday way back in July 2010 largely because it is situated in a very central area of Amsterdam close to Dam Square and the central railway station.
This is a nice three-star hotel and therefore well affordable. Breakfast, which included English breakfast, was satisfactory and the room was clean. The only thing which was not functioning was the Wifi internet access. |

Good hotel in an excellent location Aug 02, 2010
I enjoyed my stay in the Avenue Hotel. Its location is excellent, only 5 minutes walk from the Central Station. The room and ensuite were good. Breakfast was plentiful and the service was okay. The only glitch was the internet wi-fi service which was awful since the connection signal was very weak.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel for those who wish to visit Amsterdam. |

Avenue Hotel Amsterdam Mar 19, 2008
I stayed at this hotel for 2 days, the first room was okay but the second one we had to move into was Hot! It was a studio apartment that was open and it was 128 EURO a night.
The hotel was safe, nice they had Heineken on tap in the Lobby. Breakfast was included and it was great! I dont have much to complain about the hotel, there is a big sign outside the building that says 'Avenue'. The location is great because it is in walking distance from bars and it is only a 5 minute walk from Centraal Station. Part of the Jess and Blake's Euro-trip 2008! travel blog
