Great traditional museum Jan 31, 2009
The Australian Museum in Sydney is everything I expect from a museum. You walk in and, as their should be, a skeleton of a whale is hanging over you. You have a hall of skeletons, stuffed animals from Australia, an interesting mineral collection, a hall of dinosaurs and artefacts from indigenous Australia. In addition there are great travelling exhibits, when I visited there was an excellent one on Wildlife Photographer of the Year and another on Papua New Guinea.
Students are $8 (they accept international student cards), adults $12 and penioners and children are free. Part of the Voyage to Belgium travel blog |

I also went to the Australian Museum and saw more animals. Turns out the Brisbane and Sydney museums were closely linked in their displays. Spent my last night celebrating with the rest of Australia since I was leaving on Australia day. Basically it was a 3 day weekend… Wrapping up Australia |
