Australian Museum - Best bang for the buck!!! Jul 25, 2011
Considering how expensive things were in Sydney, this was by far my best investment! This was an amazing museum. It just seemed to keep going and going and going.

The following exhibits were on display:

1. Birds of Paradise.

2. Indigenous Australians

3. Surviving Australia.

4. Birds of Australia

5. Skeletons

6. Gems and Minerals

7. Prehistoric Australia

There's probably more that I've forgotten. It took about 4 hours to go through the museum. It would have probably taken more time than that, but I was getting tired.

I think that, of the museums that I have visited, this is the best single museum that I've ever been to, excluding the Smithsonian museums. It was fantastic and for $14 admission, cannot be beat ... assuming that you like museums.

Great traditional museum Jan 31, 2009
The Australian Museum in Sydney is everything I expect from a museum. You walk in and, as their should be, a skeleton of a whale is hanging over you. You have a hall of skeletons, stuffed animals from Australia, an interesting mineral collection, a hall of dinosaurs and artefacts from indigenous Australia. In addition there are great travelling exhibits, when I visited there was an excellent one on Wildlife Photographer of the Year and another on Papua New Guinea.

Students are $8 (they accept international student cards), adults $12 and penioners and children are free.
