Our second day
in the Northern Territory
was also spent at Uluru. The sunrise was beautiful. We sat next to each other
with hot milo and biscuits, enjoying the atmosphere and each other's company,
as Uluru slowly changed to a vivid red colour with the change in light.
After the sunrise we went on a cultural tour and guide around Uluru. We hopped
off the bus and walked along a small creek at the base of Uluru (like a moat)
to a grotto with Rainbow honeyeaters. I was just saying to L...

I was in AUS for only one week at the end of June 2005. There, I managed to visit 3 cities which were Sydney, Newcastle, and Port Macquarie. In Sydney, I got an inside tour of the Opera House, climbed the Harbour Bridge, and went on a 2 hour cruise around the bays of Port Jackson. In Newcastle, I only walked around the city. In Port Macquire, I biked for 4 hours around the beach, rode a camel in the beach and walked around the beautiful city, and went to the zoo!

I arrived in Sydney from Los Angeles this morning and made my way to my friends house in Bondi Beach. It was the longest flight I have ever been on, and it actually wasn't too bad.I went out for a few surf sessions while there, but completely psyched myself out thinking about sharks and didn't stay in too long. After a few days search, I found a job at a vineyard picking grapes and got on a bus to Mildura. A friend met me there for the weekend, a guy I met years before while working in Alaska -...

While spending two weeks in Hobart, Tasmania and Sydney working, I decided to use my only day off on a daytrip to Bruny Island, south of Hobart. I joined the group in Hobart and by bus and ferry I arrived at the island some hours later. We drove around the Island, and also went on a three-hour boat-trip before heading back to Hobart.Fantastic nature and animals; dolphins, seals, a whale and beautiful birds..

Bonjou Mon Amie,I'm leaving TOMORROW! this is a very shocking thing to remember (because i forget and then it hits me again) less than 24 hours until i am on a plane on my first leg Perth - Singapore! I am very lucky getting to fly Sg Airlines (my favourite) because that was part of my parents birthday present for my 18th.. I feel very blessed! (especially since i would not ever have been able to afford it myself). The other part, VERY EXCITING, is what i am writing on as we speak... new lapt...

Arrived into Darwin very bleery eyed at 4.30am to encounter the typical aussie laid back attitude. Our shuttle bus didn't turn up for ages and then when it did he went inside to have a coffee leaving us all outside!
When we eventually got to the hostel we were impressed at how clean and hotel like it was. Two pools, roof terrace and card key entry, very swish. It was a bit of a culture shock though and is very like a club 18-30 holiday. Not really what we have been used to.
We jus...

Just finished diving the Great Barrier Reef. I actually did NOT go out last night as I was spent from traveling yesterday and wanted to be well rested for my dive trip. Overall, it was a really cool experience... I found Nemo (lots of 'em) and got to see lots of other things as well (i.e. a shark, rays, loads of colorful fish, etc.). I'm now tired again and need a power nap before I go out tonight to celebrate my last night in Cairns. Tomorrow I'll be making the 9 hour...

On Wednesday we went to Kings Park in Perth. It was a really beautiful park and there were lots of joggers and families having picnics there enjoying the warm weather. The views of the city and the rivers are absolutely incredible there. Wonderful for picture taking! It was pretty hot that day tho so we didn't stay for too long. After we left the park, we headed to downtown Perth to do a little shopping! They have a great little shopping area that is closed to traffic. We had l...

We went to Gippsland on February 16th-18th On Friday night there was a little welcome party at a house in Leongatha. We got to see our friends that we had met at the Jan. briefing. We met our weekend host (the family we were staying with) at this little party. Out host name was Gary and Sue. They have been to Canada. They stayed in London, Ontario! If I get this order of activities wrong my bad then! On Saturday we met at the Inverloch environment Centre. They had a good shell museum there! W...
