first part of my 7 month solo backpacking journey. 2 weeks in NZ. 1st 2 days in Auckland then rest of time in South Island. So beautiful!!

We arrived in Auckland at the start of June. We picked up our Camper and began our two week tour of the north and south island, before we settled in Wellington for the remainder of our time in New Zealand. Some of our stops included, Auckland, Hamilton, Taupo, Rotorua, Napier, Hastings, Palmerstone north, Wellington, Wairarapa(featherston, Grey town, martinborough, carterton, marsterton), Nelson, Christchurch, Akaroa.

We arrived in Auckland and slept a few hours.  Then it was late morning so we went up the Sky tower, the tallest building in the western hemisphere.  We went to Kelly Tarltons Ocean center.  They had penguins, stingrays, sharks, turtles, fish, sea horses and many other sea crea…

Me and my friend studied one semester in Auckland,NZ. Although we were really busy with uni and it rained a lot we love NZ ! NZ rocks but Auckland sucks ;) !

After an amazing year working & meeting new friends in New Zealand, it was time to start travelling this amazing country. The plan was to start in the South Island, head North & to make my way back home to the UK through Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, South Korea, China & unplanned Taiwan.

4th January So we left behind a wet rainy Sydney to head to the airport and fly to Auckland - we had an hour delay but that was nothing major. We flew into a sunshiny Auckland which was nice considering the rain over the past few days in Sydney! We grabbed a Skybus who took us on a back streets …

Today we are driving back up to the north. This time we drow the other way around the mountains and through the 'desert'. We got to lake tapou and on to Hobbiton... WuHu... or so I was thinking... It cost 50 dollers and it is no longer kept as it was... So that is a nother of the tourist-trap…
