The bus ride between Auckland and Rotorua is one 4 hr postcard. Beautiful fields, mountains, streams. Sheep & cattle everywhere. It's been a long time since I saw Transylvania, but I think New Zealand has now occupied my top spot for scenic countryside.

lived in Western Australia for 6 months in 2004. Amazing place. Some people may tell you it's in the middle of nowhere and not worth visiting but it's just a myth. Perth has all the wonderful things you need in a city and with less people on that side of the continent the wilderness is just amazing.

Today I spent most of the day sitting in the park and reading a magazine. So now I'm a little sunburned. I spent the rest of the day packing. Even after 2 months I'm still having trouble putting all my heavy things into the big backpack. Tomorrow onto Whitiange for a few days.
