My very, very last day in New Zealand began with rain, which meant the weather conditions underlined my mood quite well even though I was really happy to see my family at home again pretty soon. What an odd feeling!
After I had said bye to my neighbours in Hamilton my Kiwi family drove me …

Well, once I started this tour, I stopped writing in my journal, which is a real shame because I had more amazing experiences during my 3 weeks in NZ than any other trip. But I have a really good reason for abandoning my writing. Listen:That first morning, as we were driving around Auckland and I p…

I went to see the PC boys first thing in the morning, at Toshiba Repair Centre. I explained the situation and much to my disappointment I was told it would probably take two to three weeks to even test Roger. I don’t know, maybe it was the way I looked like I had just slept in my car …

This morning we were picked up and driven to the airport to check in for our flight to Auckland. We were a bit early but we didn't have time to do anything else. Then the flight to Auckland. When we arrived our chauffeur was waiting. A hotel limo, at an extra cost of course. By the time we we…

Bungee jumping. . . .and not by me But first we went back to some of the places we’d already been and had a chance to redo photographs or see things we’d missed before. With the tour group we redid a visit to Kelly Tarleton’s Underwater World, Parnell Village and the Auckland Mus…

I spent my remaining time in Auckland. I considered driving north to the tip of New Zealand but ultimately decided against it. There was plenty to see in Auckland. I'm not a gambler but I did spend some time in the Skycity's casino. I won money playing various games of chance. Yippee!!! I rec…

It is funny the little differences they have here compared to home. When you get food "to go" they call "take away." Their yeild signs say, "Give way." The cars are the same too. They have the same brands of cars as us, but models that we don't have at home. Also everything that sho…

Okay so i decided to try the bungy at the Auckland Harbour Bridge because 1) Bungy jumping is in my list of “things to do before I die”, 2) Auckland Bridge is only 43m, hence perfect for a first-timer, 3) I’ve always wondered how it feels like killing myself, and 4) I didn’t wanna be a wuss…

I'm uploading pictures from my first couple days in New Zealand. I will be back later to add commentary. I've got limited time right now because I'm catching a bus today up to Kerikeri! Julia Scahill's family was so kind to invite me to stay with them! Overall though -…

As we picked up the rental car, I had my first experience with driving on the left side of the road. It's weird, especially when approaching the roundabouts and have to give way.....you're expecting the traffic to come from the other side!! Not to mention putting on the windowwhipers when t…
