Auburn Vacation Guide
Auburn's a small town in Upstate, NY. It's a fairly quiet place but does have some claims to fame. It has the home of Harriet Tubman, an African-American abolitionist who traveled the Underground Railroad during the American Civil War, the home and gravesite of William Seward who purchased Alaska, and of course Birdsill Holly who invented the fire hydrant! Auburn is also home to a Maximum Security Prison where the first execution by electric chair occured in 1890. On a lighter note, Auburn is in the heart of the Finger Lakes, located on the northern end of Owasco Lake and very close to many others.
