Atlas Berbere Dades Gorge Reviews
Clay and straw hotel in gorgeous valley Apr 11, 2009
Hotel Atals Berbere is situated about 27 kms into the gorge right on the east bank of the river Dades. Actually, the free standing hotel is encloed by the river and the small road.
Atlas Berbere has parking space for about three cars, if more guests arrive with cars you have to drive a bit further into the gorge and walk back.
The hotel has a small but friendly reception on the road level. Downstairs, on the river level, is the restaurant and a terrace on the river. Rooms are on the floor above the reception. There's also a terrace on the roof with a stone BBQ.
Our room was at the south end of the building. Our small bed was under a double window overlooking the river and another window had a view on the road. The bath room was very tiny and had no warm water when we arrived. An old table, some outdated chairs and a single bed (ideal for the suitcases) completed the room.
Yet the hotel has a nice atmosphere. Breakfast was OK and the location is ideal to make a long walk through the gorge.
If you're easily pleased and not in for any luxury, this is a cute spot to stay one night.
We especially enjoyed the Moroccan tea served on the terrace near the river.
