Travel Plans
Alaska, USAdream destination
Perhaps during the fall months (northern hemisphere) in 2008 after the tourist season. Would love to go fishing, kayaking and hiking as well as hunting for Moose, Elk or Dahl Sheep.
Thailanddream destination
Eat some of that great Thai food and perhaps travel on the real Orient Express.
Countries I've Traveled To
Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Turks And Caicos, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City
Languages Spoken
English (Southern and Ghetto), French (un petit peu), and wanting to learn Spanish. I can speak a little bit of Yankee, too, since I have relatives in New York. Ha, ha, ha.
Interests
First and foremost - I LOVE the U.K. (and Ireland and Scotland), the British people, their culture and the whole country in general. I also like flying (former USAF), airports, airplanes, travel, hunting, fishing, gardening, gourmet cooking, home improvement projects, camping, hiking, biking, canoeing, THE HOME DEPOT, my dogs, horses and horseback riding, rodeos, helping my family on the farm, entertaining friends and family, etc. Being from the southern US, I have to say I LOVE BAR-B-Q. And fyi - "BBQ" is a food, NOT the device you cook on outside. LOL.
Books you might find in my backpack
Travel & Leisure, Men's Fitness, National Geographic Traveler, "Somebody's Gotta Say It" by Neal Boortz, "The Last Jihad" by Joel C. Rosenberg, "One Billion Customers: Lessons from the Front Lines of Doing Business in China" by James McGregor, and any books regarding aviation, food, gardening, plants or landscape design.
Music you might find me listening to while waiting for my plane
Newsboys, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, anything Madonna, Seal, Josh Groban, era - The Mass, Sarah Brightman, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Jim Brickman, techno and dance music, a little classical and a lot of country.
Most Memorable Travel Experience
I'll have to say I've had a great time everywhere I've been, but my favorite trip so far was to China. Had an absolutely fantastic time. Good food, wonderful hospitality and made some great friends while I was there.
Profile
I always strive to be the person my two dogs think I am! UPDATE 12/27/08: Christmas this year ended up being one of the saddest days I've ever experienced. I ended up putting my best friend and oldest Golden Retriever, Sydney, to sleep after a surprising diagnosis of cancer of the spleen. She taught me a tremendous amount about what it means to be a true friend, providing unconditional love and putting others before self. Values I try to live by everyday.

Have a great weekend:)
I REALLY REALLY want to get to know the Travbuddies here in Atlanta - there are so MANY!! And it's a shame to not have meet ups here. I found that you have to have an award in order to set up a meet up and you have awards! hehehe! Would you be interested in setting one up - especially for NYE in couple days? I think we need to wake up the Atlanta Travbuddies! I will definitely help! Whereabouts in Atlanta are you? -- Joan
