Here we are, back where it all started. Although, it's not my first time in Athens there are a lot fo things I didn't see the first time back in 2001 like Lykavittos Hill, the National Archeaological Museum and the new Olympic Stadium.

For Athens I have a biased opinion, we went the year before the Olympics so there was a brand new subway which was stunning and sparkled, literally, the stations looked like museums with historical displays and such. But... there were maybe half a dozen stops and only one took us near the hotel... Did I mention that we arrived at 4am? So, tired, hours before we could check into the hotel and no sleep on the plane of course... we decided to find the Acropolis (the spot of the main ...

After Venice myself and a group of my friends (Matt G., Veronica, Patty, Kevin, Ricardo, Shaun, Camille, Jenn Rivo, and Megan) traveled together to Athens, Greece! Here we saw all the big sites. We stayed in a Hostel right by the Acropolis. We were able to see the Acropolis from this Hostel’s rooftop. We got in during the evening so we just got some dinner and some of us got ready for bed right after while a couple of us went out for a walk during the night. Th...

Hello kids,
Sorry for the radio silence, I was being hunted by zeh germans and I needed to beat a hasty retreat into the greek islands. Many places here are not very big and as such don't have all the ammenities that one might wish for. For example, porto buffalo (yet another buffalo) has all of 7 people in residence during the winter and can get upwards of 12 when everyone is in town (I kid you not). As I have to go through my requisite terrorist checkpoint for my upcoming...

Europe Up & Down with EF College Break = best time of my LIFE!
Swimming in the Mediterranean, exploring the Colosseum, partying at an ice bar, Trevi fountain, getting lost = amazing, eating gelato! Night trains, over night cruises to Greece, meeting the locals, Pompeii, Dephi, amazing views, Sistine Chapel, Amsterdam!, the Eiffel tower sparkling at night!
Sound like something you want to do...join me this summer on a tour! I want to do it again...

I started in Rio in November 2006, from there to British Coloumbia, Canada for 1 year. And after exploring the Canadian east coast for a bit, I'm leaving to Europe from Toronto.

Athens has been wonderful so far. The tourist sseason hasn't started yet, so I've been able to just wonder around minus the crowds, see the archaeological sites with next to nobody there. I mean, there was even a school group of grade school age Greek children to see the Acropolis when I was there. This city is pretty interesting. Since there's no one around, it's fairly easy to get lost in thought. It's so urban, but then I fall into the serenity of the ancient ruins. Walking around the city ...
