We went to the national archeological museum and saw so many many things.....  so ancient!   It is so amazing that things survived.   pots and statues and bronze pieces.     I accidentally used a flash and the docent yelled at me.  I was so mortified.   I apologized to him as I left the room and he was very kind and waved hishand and said "it is forgotten".  which is a typical thing a Greek says to accept your...

ok due of technical problems! i cannot create  more than one entries on my blog... so im gonna put all the pics here! the first area i went was PSUXIKO, then KOLONAKI, then DOWNTOWN, PLAKA (the main area), at last DOWNTOWN again to take my car & go back home! because i dont have space to discribe the areas i will write the discriptions of the places under the pic! even though the blog will be extended! have fun!

the previous weekend some bad weather came all over greece! in athens (downtown) in snows like twice a decade... the media started to get people in panic from the start of the week. News were saying, that the worst weather for the last 40 years will strike the town & the people should stay at home & get prepared for the worst... media were overreacting as always! yes we had bad weather, storms & extra low temperatures... but it was ok! it was beautiful! so i was out all day,...

i couldnt really tolerate greek food, its too much for me - thank god that around the corner of the house,  there is a grocery store and my eyes lit up thats its a german company and german name - SPAR laughs-  so much for almost everyday eating at mcdonalds that i got too thin for not eating healthy. well to be honest, i am not impressed with athens. i dont know, was it just me, or was it too hot? i never found the architectures post hellenic fascinating - except for the synt...

Just wanted to see how video from my camera worked. It did! So enjoy the view from my room at 6 am in the morning. It was a charming hotel and I will miss it dearly. I have enjoyed all the luxury that a hotel of this class offers. Now to head to the economy places where I will have to rough it a bit. This is a price list from a snack bar that sells Ouzo and mezedhes (Greek version of tapas!). The establishment known as an “ouzerí” in Greek is called “The Aegean Sea” and a little bottle of ouzo will cost you 7 €, a plate of fried whitebait 5 €, some grilled octopus 8.5 € and some yoghurt and cucumber dip (Jajiki) 3 €.Bon appétit!
